A Review of "Josh Runs into Oprah"

Season 4, Episode 1. Josh loves Oprah. He knows it, Drake knows it, we all know it. This episode has to be included in my blogs because it is certainly one of my favorites in the series. As the title suggests, this episode isn't really that joyful for Josh. But we're getting ahead of ourselves, let's start from the beginning! It's Josh's birthday, and Drake forgets all about it. He tells Josh to meet him at The Premiere later in the day, something Josh believes is a surprise party for him. When he arrives to the theater, he finds out Drake threw a surprise party for his new girlfriend instead. When he finally realizes Drake actually forgot his birthday, he gets upset and storms out.

Shortly after, Helen breaks it to Drake that it's Josh's birthday too, and Drake then makes it his mission to make it up to Josh. He rushes home to tell Josh he got them both tickets to a live recording of the Oprah show with backstage passes from one of his band members' relatives who works at the studio. Upon hearing this news, Josh took it very well. VERY well...

Megan takes a picture of this romantic moment and proclaimed it was going to be posted on the internet. The next scene is where things start going downhill very quickly. Josh is driving in the parking lot of the studio, and bypasses a lot of open spots to get closer to the door so he doesn't get sweaty. He was very adamant that he did NOT want to meet Oprah with pit stains. Smart. The boys start to struggle over the wheel and during the confusion, Oprah is crossing the street right in front of the car. You can probably guess what happens next... Josh runs the car right into one of the most influential women in the country.

The looks on their faces are just priceless. Also, Drake's cluelessness does not help Josh's mood at all.

Drake still tries to make it up to Josh, by coming up with the idea to visit Oprah at the hospital to apologize. Josh agrees, but not before an angry mob of female Oprah fans beats him up.

At the hospital, there are two guards outside of Oprah's door. Without saying any words, they continue to shock Drake and Josh with tasers when the boys tried to go into the room. In order to clear the hallway, Drake loudly exclaims Josh has a highly contagious flesh eating virus. Everyone, including the guards, leave. When Josh is about to go into the room, doctors rush into the hallway and wheel Josh away to put him into a chemical bath. When Josh finally arrives home, he is not happy.

Later, Josh rushes to The Premiere because Helen said there was an emergency, only to find that Drake threw a surprise party for him in the end as an apology. It really seemed to make a very horrible birthday somewhat ok. Josh also gets a restraining order from Oprah, but only cares that she signed it at the bottom so now he has her autograph.
